    Description

    1925-28 Chevrolet 171 four cylinder brass main bearing shims - One pair of National # 396, these are for the front main. Each shim is 1/32" thick, & is made up of a stack of .002 shims, the outer edge is bound so they won't curl or come apart until you peel them open. National calls them 'multi leaf construction". This allows you to add or remove layers to get the perfect fit on those difficult babbited engines.  This is what they used back in the day to shim the babbited main bearings for proper clearance.
