    (Vol. X, No. 50) that carried commercial and political news of the day. Of major interest is the article on page 2 on Toussaint L’Ouverture, the hero of the Haitian Rebellion.
    Included in the article is the ominous statement: “He fears that France will one day endeavor to punish him as a rebel; but this, France will never be able to accomplish.”
    The paper also includes an article about the electors from South Carolina and attempts to form a coalition of supporters of Aaron Burr and John Adams to pledge their votes for Thomas Jefferson.
    The entire first page is given over to wholesale prices of various commodities in Boston.
